The Antirrhinum Majus, commonly known as Snapdragon, is a beautiful and ornamental perennial flower. It is a part of the Plantaginaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean region. Snapdragon flowers come in many colors, such as white, yellow, pink, orange, and red. The flowers are tubular shaped and are about 2-3 cm in length. They have five petals that spread out wide and they have a light, sweet scent.

The plant itself is quite tall, reaching up to 60 cm in height and has many branches. The leaves are lanceolate in shape, with a serrated edge and a glossy green color. Snapdragon flowers bloom from late spring to early summer and are very attractive to pollinators, such as bees and butterflies.

Snapdragons are also great for growing in containers and can be easily propagated by seed or by cutting. When sowing seeds, it’s important to do so in a sunny location and to keep the soil moist. Snapdragons are a hardy plant and can tolerate some drought.

Snapdragon seeds have been used for centuries as a medicinal herb and to make herbal teas. They have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. The seed pods can also be dried and used as a natural dye.
