.Tomatillo, also known as the Mexican husk tomato, is an edible fruit from the nightshade family. It is a small, round green or green-purple fruit that is enclosed in a papery husk. It has a tart and slightly tangy flavor, and is most commonly used to make salsa, sauces and marinades.

.Tomatillos are loaded with essential vitamins and minerals. They are a great source of vitamin C, as well as dietary fiber, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and manganese. They are also rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the body against free radicals.

.Tomatillos are easy to grow and can be started from seed or bought as transplants. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and should be planted in spring after the danger of frost has passed.

.Harvesting tomatillos can be done when the fruits are green and firm, or when they are allowed to mature and turn yellow or purple. The husks should be removed before eating.

.Tomatillos can be eaten raw, cooked, or dried. They can be used in a variety of dishes, from soups and stews to salads and salsas. They can also be blended into sauces, pureed for dips, or added to smoothies.
