Ryugen is a traditional Japanese rice variety developed over hundreds of years. The grains are medium-sized, thick, and glossy with a sweet flavour. It has a low amylose content, making it softer and stickier than other varieties. Ryugen is known for its superior cooking quality and is used to make many kinds of dishes, from steamed rice to sushi.

Ryugen has a unique texture and flavor, which is why it is the favorite of many Japanese chefs. It has a firm and chewy texture that is perfect for making sushi and other delicacies. The sweetness of the rice complements salty and savory dishes, making it an ideal accompaniment to many meals.

The Ryugen rice plant is a hardy variety that is resistant to disease and pests. It is also known for its high yields, making it ideal for large-scale production. The plant is also tolerant of a wide range of soil types and temperatures, making it suitable for many different locations.

Ryugen grains are milled to remove the outer coating, which gives the rice its bright white color. The rice is then polished to give it its glossy sheen. The grains also have a high amylopectin content, which gives the cooked rice a sticky texture. This makes it perfect for dishes like sushi and onigiri.

Ryugen is a highly versatile rice variety that is used to make many delicious and nutritious dishes. It is an excellent source of carbohydrates, proteins, and dietary fiber. It is also low in fat and cholesterol, making it a healthy choice for individuals looking to keep their diet balanced.
