1. Clarkia is a genus of flowering plants within the Onagraceae family. It contains over 20 different species, some of which produce edible seeds known as Clarkia seeds. These seeds have a nutty flavor and are generally eaten raw or roasted as a snack. They are a good source of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and fatty acids.

2. Clarkia plants are annuals that typically bloom in the late spring or summer with a variety of colors, including white, pink, purple, and red. The flowers are usually small and tubular-shaped with five petals. The stems and leaves are covered in fine hairs and the plant can reach heights of up to three feet.

3. Clarkia seeds are a popular ingredient in many recipes, such as salads, soups, and baked goods. They are also a great source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, and C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.

4. Clarkia seeds can be purchased in many health food stores and online retailers. They are usually sold in bulk, but some retailers also offer them in pre-packaged containers. When storing Clarkia seeds, it is important to keep them in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.

5. Clarkia can be grown from seed, but it is usually easier to purchase mature plants from nurseries or garden centers. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and require regular watering. When planting Clarkia, it is important to space the plants at least one foot apart to give them enough room to grow.

3. Till the soil to rid it of weeds and to increase air circulation. Apply compost to the soil after tilling.

4. Place two or three in a hole about ½ to 1 inch deep in the soil along a fence or under a 6-foot-tall trellis form. The holes should be 15 to 23 inches apart and rows 3 to 5 feet apart. You can also start in small plastic pots in a commercial soil mix.
