Scallions, also known as green onions, are a mild member of the onion family. They have a milder flavor than yellow or red onions, and their crunchy texture makes them popular as a vegetable or garnish. The white base of the scallion is the edible part, but the entire plant is edible, including the green top.
Scallion seeds are incredibly easy to grow. The seeds can be planted directly into the soil or started in small pots indoors. Once the plants have grown a few inches, they can be transplanted outdoors. The plants need full sun and regular watering, and they should be harvested when the scallions reach their desired size.
Scallions are a great addition to any garden. They're easy to grow, delicious to eat, and incredibly nutritious. They add a flavor and texture to dishes that can't be matched by other vegetables. Whether you're growing them for your own use or to use as a garnish, scallions are sure to be a hit.
