Agapanthus is a genus of flowering plants native to South Africa. It is a popular ornamental plant, and is often referred to as the "African Lily". The plants produce large, showy clusters of bell-shaped flowers in shades of blue, purple, white, and pink. The foliage is evergreen, and the plants are drought and heat tolerant. Agapanthus are low-maintenance plants that require little to no pruning or fertilizing.

Agapanthus seeds are small and black, with a hard husk. The seeds can be planted directly into the soil, or started indoors in a warm area. Once the seedlings are established, they can be transplanted outdoors to a sunny location. The plants will flower within a few months of planting.

The flowers of Agapanthus are known for their beauty and long-lasting blooms. The flowers are borne on long, sturdy stems, and make wonderful cut flowers. Agapanthus can be planted in a variety of locations, including containers, borders, and in mass plantings.

Agapanthus is suitable for both hot and cold climates, and can be grown in USDA Hardiness Zones 7-11. The plants prefer full sun to part shade, and moist, well-draining soil. Regular watering and fertilizing will encourage more flowers and more vigorous growth.

Agapanthus is an elegant and attractive addition to any landscape. They are perfect for creating a showy display of color and texture, and can be enjoyed for many years with proper care.

3. Till the soil to rid it of weeds and to increase air circulation. Apply compost to the soil after tilling.

4. Place two or three in a hole about ½ to 1 inch deep in the soil along a fence or under a 6-foot-tall trellis form. The holes should be 15 to 23 inches apart and rows 3 to 5 feet apart. You can also start in small plastic pots in a commercial soil mix.
